Pilates and Movement for Musicians with Eva Stern (May 11th, 2019 1:30pm)
May 11 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Playing an instrument can be physically demanding, requiring coordination, strength, and flexibility. This class will use the principles of Pilates to create greater awareness in the body. You will be given a “toolbox” of movement ideas to bring greater ease and enjoyment to your playing. This class is appropriate for players of any instrument and is of value to professionals and students alike.
What you’ll need: Just yourself! No equipment (i.e. mats) is needed for this workshop. No special attire is required—just something comfortable! We will be doing some simple movements that can be transferred to just about any environment, i.e. the practice room or backstage.
